T-Swirl

USA

Japanese craft, American appetite

T-Swirl Crepe brings authentic Japanese rice flour crepe culture to the United States—crispy, chewy, and available across multiple US regions. We developed the content strategy and social media management that repositioned gluten-free not as a dietary category but as a genuine flavour and texture choice—one worth actively seeking out, regardless of restriction.

CHALLENGE

How do you make gluten-free the reason to order, not the reason to hesitate?

The challenge was introducing American audiences to a Japanese crepe tradition they had no reference point for—without making the education feel like homework. Rice flour, crispy-chewy texture, precise fold technique: these are genuinely distinct qualities, but they required content that made people feel the craving before they understood the product. We also needed to compete with established dessert chains on visual impact while maintaining the authenticity and craft positioning that sets T-Swirl apart from the category it was entering.

CONCEPT

Every Frame, a Craving

Content built entirely around sensation: the crispy-chewy contrast, the precise fold, the moment the filling reveals itself. Video became ASMR-adjacent—batter hitting the griddle, the smooth spread technique, the satisfying first crunch—designed to make a viewer feel the texture through a phone screen. Tight crops emphasised material. Overhead angles showed ingredient layering. 'Sweet vs. savory' and 'build your own' series created participation and repeat engagement. The result is content that made gluten-free feel like a discovery worth sharing—not a restriction to accommodate, but a reason to go.
